If you haven't yet screened Toy Story 3 as an outdoor movie this year, it will certainly make a great pick for your next flick under the stars! Whether you're at home with your family and your Cinebox Home Screen, or with your entire community and your 30' Elite Screen, Toy Story 3 is a great choice for a number of reasons! The film is the third iteration of series that changed the animation industry forever. And Toy Story 3 takes it to another level, as it was created in 3D! Now all your favorite characters will come to life like they have never before - and if you can pool the resources, why not screen it in 3D as an outdoor movie, as was done earlier this year in NYC for Monsters Vs. Aliens?

The 2009 film Star Trek, directed by J.J. Abrams is an excellent choice for your next outdoor movie event! The film has a whopping 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and has no doubt turned an entirely new generation into trekkies! The film stars Chris Pine as James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Leonard Nimoy as the elder Spock, along with Winona Ryder and Zoe Saldana among others. Here's the theatrical release trailer!

Interested in showing a movie for a fundraiser or a company picnic outdoors under the stars? Lake Erie Video Productions has the right set up. They have a large inflatable screen, sound system, projector and can license just about any movie currently available. Its the perfect way to enhance a corporate picnic or sales meeting. Lake Erie Video Productions has been screening outdoor movies for two years. Attached is an image from an event they produced last summer. This outdoor movie event was picked up by newspapers and the editor of one paper wrote favorably about their community efforts. The city of Eerie has helped fund their outdoor movie events.

These are a few shots from Greenwood, Indiana. I am not sure how long they have been putting them on but it is presented by the local library there. We went to see Sandlot for my nephew's birthday party. Before the show they had baseball tournaments and hot dogs and popcorn. The kids absolutely loved it!

Auburn’s Summer Sounds & Cinema started in the summer of 2004. The popular outdoor concert and movie series is now a three-week series held throughout the month of August and provided by the City of Auburn. In addition to the lively music and the movie under the stars, event coordinators plan exciting activities to keep viewers entertained, engaged and coming back. With creative programming ideas - such as bee mobile crafts in conjunction with the Bee Movie, partnering with the Pacific Northwest Delorean Club when showing Back to the Future and a giant meatball slingshot competition at this year's screening of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - the audience thrives on the excitement. With on-site food concessions, an opportunity for FREE Child ID kits, inflatable rides and more, Auburn's Summer Sounds & Cinema is a blockbuster hit that attracts an audience of over 3,000 per summer.

Lacey Parks & Recreation does movie nights in our park Saturday nights in the summer and have been so doing since 1997. Lacey, Washington is located just north of Olympia, the state capital and we have about 36,000 in population. Our movie nights are great family events each summer with attendance ranging from 200-over 1000 per night. It is a part of our summer entertainment series that also includes Tuesday evening Children’s Entertainment (Jugglers, magicians, etc) and Wednesday noon music concerts.

The City of Allen’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting began as a small community event more than 15 years ago but has since grown from a gathering of approximately 150 people, to a crowd of more than 1,000 people. It was originally held at the fire station and the lights were strung from a flag pole. It then moved to the front of City Hall and the tree was an Eastern Red Cedar that was transplanted from Allen Station Park in 2000. The program was held in the parking lot. In 2004 the event moved into the newly designed Civic Plaza. The tree then became a 35 foot artificial tree with more than 20,000 lights. The move to the Plaza also allowed for more holiday decorations and lights. We now have more than 40,000 lights in the Plaza and on the buildings surrounding the plaza.

We are really excited for the next and final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, and of course we're most excited to view it as an outdoor movie! The film is set to be pretty amazing, and will be released in two parts, the first which is to be released on November 19, 2010, and the second on July 15, 2011. Both will be released in 3D, as well as 2D, so save up for your outdoor movie 3D projector so you can watch the film in 3D on your 40 foot Elite Screen!
