On a special trip outside the hive, Barry's life is saved by Vanessa, a florist in New York City. As their relationship blossoms, he discovers humans actually eat honey, and subsequently decides to sue us. Preshow entertainment will include Chris Hatfield, winner of Mid Missouri Idol 2005.
Upcoming outdoor movies are:
Friday, June 13, 9 p.m.- The Birds (PG-13)
Friday, July 11, 9 p.m.- Some Like it Hot (PG-13)
Friday, Aug. 8, 8:45 p.m.- The Spiderwick Chronicles (PG)
The Outdoor Cinema Series was formerly located at Flat Branch Park, but moves this year to Stephens Lake Park. The outdoor movies resemble a drive-in without cars, yet offer better sound, soft grass and a beautiful venue. Movie watchers should bring a blanket or low lawn chair. Preshow entertainment before each movie starts at 8 p.m.
The Outdoor Cinema Series is sponsored by Columbia Parks and Recreation, the Columbia Daily Tribune and the Columbia Convention & Visitors Bureau.
