On October 29th, at 8:00 PM, a very special movie screening will be presented for Day of the Dead. Cine Las AmГ©ricas will present the series "La Hora FrГ­a: una ofrenda de cine para el DГ­a de Muertos" (The Cold Hour: a cinematic offering for Day of the Dead) at the Mexican American Cultural Center, with a spooky outdoor screening of the film EL ESQUELETO DE LA SEГ‘ORA MORALES (1959), directed by Rogelio A. GonzГЎlez, and starring Arturo de CГіrdova and Amparo Rivelles. EL ESQUELETO DE LA SEГ‘ORA MORALES is a unique film in Mexican cinema, with a mix of horror and comedy that is also a satire of the exaggerated melodramas that were so famous in Mexico in the 1950s. The film was written by Luis Alcoriza, based on the short story "The Islington Mystery" by British author Arthur Machen, and is considered by Mexican critics as one of the top ten films in Mexican cinema.
