Wellfleet, Massachusetts: Free Outdoor Movies for Families at Wellfleet Preservation Hall
Wellfleet Preservation Hall (known locally as Prez Hall) is once again hosting outdoor movie nights in the garden this summer. Bring beach chairs or blankets and join in the fun. The outdoor cinema opens at 7 pm and Prez Hall offers pre-movie activities that compliment the film theme for the night.
Classic cartoon night July 14th
Parents with fond memories of Bugs Bunny, Rocky and Bullwinkle and the like, will have a chance to introduce their cartoon favorites to the kids as the films are projected on the wall of Preservation Hall.
From 7 until it gets dark enough to show the films, families will enjoy playing the Geography Game Show, hosted by Neal Nichols.
If it rains, the fun moves into the Wellfleet Elementary School.
Cops and robbers star on July 28th
Before the movies start, kids will have a chance to meet members of the local Wellfleet Police Department. This evening's Wellfleet Preservation Hall show will feature Andy Griffith, Lucy Ricardo and Ralph Kramden in classic television shows, all with a cops and robbers theme.
August 4th is Surfer Night at Wellfleet Preservation Hall
Start the evening with a hula hoop lesson lead by Moya Finn, then enjoy local films starring Wellfleet's own surfers. Beachtown by Larry Broadbent and the Wellfleet Wave Sliderz collection will be featured.
An evening for pirates on August 25th
The kids will enjoy a pirate's treasure hunt lead by Pirate Adventures of Provincetown before settling down to Wellfleet Preservation Hall's final movie night featuring classic Little Rascals, Gilligan's Island and other pirate themed films.
The Masonic Hall in Welllfleet will host the movie nights in the event of rain on July 28, August 4 and August 25.
