Webster Groves, Missouri: Dates Set for Open Air Movies at the Old Orchard Gazebo

Old Orchard Gazebo SeriesThe Old Orchard Merchants Association has announced this summer's schedule for its Fifth Annual Gazebo Series of free, live concerts and outdoor movies. The fun-filled, family-friendly event will be held on Friday evenings this summer from June 12 through July 3, at the Old Orchard Gazebo Park, Big Bend Boulevard at South Old Orchard. Music begins at 7 p.m. with the films starting at 9 p.m. Bring your own blanket or lawn chairs. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Old Orchard area restaurants. The kick-off to this year's series includes jazz/pop artist Anita Rosamond and the summer rite of passage movie "The Sandlot." A complete schedule of musical acts and open air films is listed below: Friday, June 12 Music: Anita Rosamond - Jazz/Standards Anita Rosamond is one of the Midwest's finest vocalists, recording artists and entertainers. Rosamond will perform covers of jazz and pop standards along with a few originals. Movie: The Sandlot A "rite of passage" story, with the kids coming to grips with their greatest fear and facing it head-on. Friday, June 19 Music: Farshid Etniko - Middle Eastern/Jazz/Folk/Rock Seamlessly blending middle-eastern instruments, they blend jazz, folk, rock and Latin beats to make them one of the most engaging bands in the city's music scene. Movie: Ferris Bueller's Day Off A high school wise guy is determined to have a day off from school, despite what his parents, resentful sister and principal think. One man's struggle to take it easy. Friday, June 26 Music: Bill Kirchen - Rock/Country Bill Kirchen, formerly with Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen, will bring his country and rockabilly sounds to the stage. Movie: City Slickers A mid-life crisis plagued man and his friends find renewal and purpose on a cattle driving vacation. Friday, July 3 Music: Terry Adams Crazy Trio with Saxophone Jazz rock, jazz, blues and country the trio will feature solos and trios with an eclectic beat.
