Wahroonga, Australia: Flash Back to the Fabulous Fifties with Drive-In Showing of 'The Blob'

Whip out that 50s frock or suave suit, don those cat's eye sunglasses and step back in time this Saturday when Rose Seidler House in Wahroonga is transformed into a 1950s-style outdoor cinema.

Inspired by the drive-in cinemas or passion pits of the 50s and 60s, the Harry-Seidler designed home will host Theatre Under The Stars, featuring the 1958 cult film The Blob, as well as original promotional footage from the era.

Starring the King of Cool, Steve McQueen, The Blob is recognised as one of the quintessential American sci-fi/horror films of the 1950s.

And for those who like a little popcorn with their gore and guts, there will even be a barbecue and a 50s-style candy bar.

Rose Seidler House is at 71 Clissold Rd, Wahroonga. Gates open at 6pm and the film starts at 8pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for under-16s, Ph: 8239 2266 or tickets.hht.net.au.
