Tsawwassen, Canada: Outdoor Movies To Return This Summer in Tsawwassen, Canada

The Business Improvement Association (BIA) of Tsawwassen announced the return of outdoor movie nights for 2009 on three Saturdays: August 8, August 22, and September 5. The movies screen at Diefenbaker Park (Aug. 8 and Sept. 5) and at Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall (Aug. 22, combined with the Block Party).
BIA executive director Ana Arciniega on what makes the event more than a movie night:
“Last year the response was overwhelmingly positive. The outdoor cinema events were a lot more than just movie nights — we partnered with many local businesses and community groups to bring pre-show food, music, activities, and demonstrations. We even launched the first Block Party at the Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall. They were all a lot of fun and the public really had a good time.”
For 2009 the BIA commissioned a new logo from Bill Turecki of ADG Projects in Boundary Bay — a bright design showing the moon, stars, and a movie reel unwinding. “We had that exact moon at the first movie night at Diefenbaker Park last summer,” said Arciniega, “so it is quite an actual representation.”
