Traverse City, Michigan: Movies for Free Including Outdoor Flicks
Following the Spring Break Movie Mania event the State Theatre is having a five dollar Easter Weekend special on movie admissions. Kung Fu Panda, Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Music Man, and The Prince of Egypt will be shown on these days.В The State Theatre has come a long way since it's grand opening in 1918, and they're going to continue their success under the wing of their President of the board of directors and award-winning filmmaker Michael Moore. Moore is also the co-founder of the Traverse City Film Festival, a non-profit, independent film promoting extravaganza. Last year there were 96,000 admissions and several world premiers at the festival.В
At dusk during the TCFF you can walk down a few blocks to the Open Space Park on the bay in Traverse City and watch classic movies on a monstrous inflatable movie screen free of charge. This year the 6th annual festival will take place from July 27th to August 1st. Jessica Laffin Read more.....
