Singapore: Outdoor Movie Screening for Charity

Outdoor Movie Screening at the Singapore Zoo

The Singapore Zoo held its first charity outdoor movie screening of 2007 on 8 September, showing Arctic Tale — an environmental documentary narrated by Queen Latifah, with a soundtrack by Cat Stevens, Ben Harper, Aimee Mann, and The Shins — at the Pavilion by the Lake from 7:30–9:30 pm. The film follows Seela the walrus and Nanu the polar bear from birth through adulthood, framing the effects of global warming around their lives in the Arctic.

Online tickets sold out; a limited number remained at the entrance from 5:00 pm, cash only. Passes were S$8 each (S$6 each for groups of 20 or more purchased together); donations over S$50 qualified for a tax-deductible receipt. All proceeds went to the Wildlife Conservation Singapore Fund.
