Shore Flicks Revives Drive-In Movie Experience in New Jersey

Shore Flicks Outdoor Movies

T.J. and Heather Brustowicz launched Shore Flicks to bring the drive-in movie tradition back to the Jersey Shore — with 16' and 40' inflatable screens, outdoor projection, and full sound.

After researching the market, T.J. found Open Air Cinema in Utah and invested over $60,000 to start the business. The couple's first event was a community day in Tinton Falls. Shore Flicks went on to book about 30 events for the 16' screen and nearly a dozen for the 40' in their first full season.

"It's about the size of a swimming pool, about three stories high," T.J. says of the big screen. "It is very impressive." The 40' can accommodate up to 3,000 attendees.

For a single event, Shore Flicks charges $700 for the 16' screen and $2,700 for the 40'. Series pricing is available for four or more events. The company provides the screen, projector, sound, and staffing — setup and breakdown included.

"The best time to show is about 20 minutes after sunset," T.J. says. "The sound and picture are terrific." More at shoreflicks.com.
