Shelby, North Carolina: 'Movies a la Mode' Free Outdoor Movie Series in Shelby, North Carolina

Outdoor Movies in Shelby, North CarolinaTalking animals abound and dancing kids are all part of the fifth annual "Movies a la Mode" outdoor movie series sponsored by Wachovia Bank and the nonprofit Uptown Shelby Association. The series begins Friday, April 24 with a showing of the animated movie "Kung Fu Panda." Friends, families, and neighbors can all come out and enjoy an outdoor film under the stars. The movie will be shown free of charge in the outdoor cinema located across from Victorian Rose Studio on Warren Street. Concessions will be available. Moviegoers need only a comfortable chair to enjoy the outdoor movie show. Co-sponsor of the event is Shelby Camera and Video. "It is a wonderful outdoor film event to bring the whole family, sit under the stars and watch a kid friendly movie." said Allison Gragg, USA Marketing and Events Coordinator. Weather permitting, the movie will begin about 8 p.m., or just after dark. Movies scheduled for this season are: April 24: "Kung Fu Panda," May 29: "Tale of Despereaux," June 26: "Horton Hears a Who," and July 24: "High School Musical 3."
