Second Outdoor Movie Celebrates Football in Benson, North Carolina

The second film in the inaugural season for the Singing Grove Cinema in Benson, North Carolina was Remember the Titans -- an outdoor screening on the town's 16-foot inflatable screen at 7 p.m., dependent on sunset. The opening-night screening of Shrek the Third the month before had drawn an estimated 175 people.

Admission was free. Concessions were available. Guests were encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather, the film would move to the W.J. Barefoot Auditorium in the municipal building. A trivia game entertained the crowd before showtime.
