The Sarajevo Film Festival is an international competitive festival recognized by FIAPF and focused on supporting Southeast European cinema. It also runs a popular open-air cinema component that brings films to the general public alongside its professional programme.
The festival serves as the primary networking hub for regional producers and directors. Its competitive sections cover feature, short, and documentary films from Southeast Europe, while the broader programme presents innovative international titles. In 2007, the festival screened 170 films. CineLink, the festival's co-production market, extends its support to regional filmmaking beyond the event itself.
