Whether you're into Latin music, photography, outdoor movies, fitness or fine wines, there's something for everyone at Ropes Crossing this month. The action is heating up for the suburb's annual free Summer Buzz festival.
Until January 31, people can check out the new community while participating in free activities, including dance classes, outdoor cinema, fitness sessions, children's entertainment, Australia Day celebrations and more.
Ropes Crossing project director Natalie Jones said the community was "buzzing with anticipation'' for the month-long celebrations.
The festival started on Saturday with a first aid water safety course, which covered CPR, home safety, bath time, water familiarisation and teaching children to swim.
A home-design workshop, with hints on reducing your carbon footprint, is on at 7pm tonight .
Then get your picnic basket ready for the open air cinema this Saturday night.
This starts with a double-decker bus tour of Ropes Crossing followed by a movie under the stars at Woodlands Park Amphitheatre at 8pm.
There will also be a photography class this Sunday from 10am.
