Redding, California: Outdoor Movies on an Really Big Inflatable Movie Screen With 'Enjoy Movies in the Park'

Photo Credit: Anderson Valley Post. If you haven't seen the inflatable screen that is being used for Enjoy Magazine's "Movies in the Park" series yet, check it out. It's big. Really big. At 20' by 30', it still manages to deflate into a nice compact bag that can fit in your truck (granted, it does weigh over 300 pounds), but when it's blown up it's a beautiful screen to watch movies under the stars anywhere your heart desires. Enjoy's philanthropic arm sponsors the "Movies in the Park" series, but the screen has also been used for other outdoor movie events around town. For example, you may have seen it at the post-ArtHop showing of Casablanca in the downtown Market Square Green earlier this month. You can see family-friendly outdoor cinema screenings each Friday night at the Redding Convention Center Lawn. Seating usually begins around 8pm and the movie starts when it's dark. The screenings usually have charity drives since the series is free (I think they are currently taking donations for the Salvation Army). Concessions are for sale, and a portion of those proceeds will also go to charity. Tomorrow's outdoor film screening is Horton Hears a Who, and next Friday (the 28th) you can see Mrs. Doubtfire. There will also be another post-ArtHop movie with the inflatable screen on Sept. 12 showing Roman Holiday.
