Pai, Thailand: Outdoor Movies Featured in the Pai International Film Festival
by Michael Maltsev
Film-lovers are invited to sit back, relax, indulge in the films and feel the music through the magic of outdoor movies in Thailand's northern mountain city of Pai during the "Pai International Film & Animation Festival 2008". The 10-day outdoor cinema event will take place on the bank of the Pai river in Mae Hong Son province starting Nov 28 and runs until Sun, Dec 7.
This is a good chance for both local Thais and visitors to this beautiful northern Thai province to experience international films from many periods including classic, multi award-winning, creative animation, indie and many good movies from Thailand and around the world.
The highlights will be the outdoor film screening of special movies to celebrate HM the King's birthday and the screening of short films directed by 10 acclaimed film directors and movie stars, who joined the short film mission under the theme "Pai, Love and Global Warming".
They are Thanit Jitnukul (Bang Rachan), Pratchaya Pinkeaw (Chocolate), Chalerm Wongpim (Jed Pra Chan Ban), Sakchai DeeNan (Sabaidee Luang Prabang ), Dulyasit Niyomkul (Sop), Kongkiat Khomsiri (Long Khong), Bandit Thongdee (Manoot Leklai) and Thitipong Chaisati (The Letter), Kirati Promsakha Na Nakhon, and Bongkot Khongmalai.
Providing music amidst the cold breezes will be popular artists such as the Sincharoen Brothers, Am Saowaluck, Tuk Wiyada, U Hareuthai, Koh Mr Saxman, Pom Autobahn, Jiab Wattana, the Vertigo, Don Golf Toon, Eed Dady Dog, Thanit Sriklindee, Keaw Carabao and many more.
