Outdoor Movie and BBQ Recipes
by Michael Maltsev
As the weather warms it is time to turn on the grill. Combine your favorite family
pastime with an outdoor movie everyone can enjoy. Open Air Cinema Systems'
large portable projection screens can be setup on the lawn or patio to entertain
while the coals get going. Try out these extra spicy recipes to give your event kick
and combine with a beach themed movie. Animated adventure based in Hawaii, Lilo
and Stitch, is a popular choice for kids. Or for the adults, a 1960s beach movie such
as Beach Party or Gidget can top off your outdoor movie party theme.
Fiery Pork Skewers
Skewered meats are a festive way to amp up your outdoor BBQ fun giving it a beach
camping vibe. Take a three-quarter pound pork tenderloin and cut into 1 cubes
then marinate them in teriyaki sauce, red wine vinegar, vegetable oil, brown sugar
and red pepper flakes. Toss to coat the cubes and let sit for up to 12 hours then
skewer the meat and place it on the grill. Be sure to brush any remaining sauce onto
the skewers frequently to keep them nice and tender.
Cajun BBQ Chicken
Louisiana's Cajun population know how to make some spicy home BBQ, this recipe
is all about the marinade. Combine a teaspoon of cayenne, paprika, garlic powder,
oregano, ground thyme, onion powder, salt, pepper and red paper flakes with a third
cup of soy sauce, apple cider vinegar and vegetable oil. Whisk this combination
until it is well blended and fragrant. Add boneless chicken breasts to the marinade
and refrigerate in an air-tight container for at least two hours. Place the chicken on
the grill and continue to brush the remaining marinade onto the chicken.
Roasted Jalapeno Peppers
An extra spicy BBQ menu is not complete without jalapeno peppers! Take some
large peppers and slice them from stem to tip, scoop out the seeds with a small
spoon. Stuff the pepper with your favorite shredded Mexican blend cheese. These
peppers do not need much time on the grill; just three to five minutes on each side
should do it.
For the adults, top off you spicy BBQ meal and outdoor movie party with a spicy
margarita! Combine jalapeno infused tequila with a margarita mix then have limes
and very small slices of jalapeno for garnish.
