Outdoor Movies in Hawaii

Last week when we asked "How has cinema shaped your year?", we heard from Robert Dunham of Songs of the Children. Here was his reply:

Aloha,

I wish I could give you 3 hours instead of 30 sec. here. Instead, I will give you a short list of the joy you have provided to so many:

1. Christmas Eve Luau at Waikiki Diamond Head Beack Park. Movie: The Best Christmas Play Ever (The wind, 30 mph with gust up to 50 mph, was to stronge to set up the screen but we still had the projector and a sheet ;-) 2. U.S. Veterans Center/Barbers Point, Movie: Soul Surfer-The Story of Bethay Hamilton 3. U.S.Veterans Center/Waianae, Movie: Soul Surfer-The Story of Bethay Hamilton

However, we show movies to many homeless folks as well. These movies are inspirational and inspiring to all. They reach the heart and let folks that need, A Hand Up-Not A Hand Out, know that God and many folks, are watching over them. I would be happy to send you pictures so that you may share them with others. Or, anyone can view pictures on our web page at: www.songsofthechildren.org "Much Mahalo," for a job well done.
