Outdoor Movies as a Memorial Celebration in Fort Collins, Colorado

A special benefit screening of the Coen Brothers' The Big Lebowski at New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado celebrated the life of Rebecca Allen, an undergraduate program administrator at Colorado State University's Department of Journalism and Technical Communication who was killed July 22, 2008 in an auto-bike collision.

The screening at dusk (around 7 p.m., September 25) was added to New Belgium's Bike-In Cinema series to honor Allen, an avid cyclist and prominent member of the Fort Collins biking community. Admission was $2; a warm blanket was suggested. Proceeds benefited the Rebecca Allen Memorial Scholarship, which supports students in the department's television news and video communication program. Allen was a 2002 cum laude graduate of CSU. The Big Lebowski was one of her favorite films.
