Orange, Texas: Outdoor Movie Concludes Community Reading Project in Orange, Texas

Outdoor Movies at Lamar State College -Orange, TexasLamar State College-Orange is sponsoring a free outdoor movie screening of the Oscar-winning film "To Kill a Mockingbird" at 7 p.m. Tuesday on the lawn in front of the campus library in downtown Orange. Come enjoy this classic film on a giant outdoor movie screen. The outdoor cinema screening is the final event in the special community-wide reading of the novel, part of the national "The Big Read" project sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts. Other events have included readings including one in a courtroom, along with discussions and presentation of a play. He won the Academy Award for best actor for the role and the American Film Institute named Atticus Finch as the No. 1 greatest hero in American movies. Moviegoers should bring lawn chairs or blankets for viewing on a special outdoor movie screen. Refreshments will be provided. Inclement weather - move to Lutcher Theater.
