Montreal, Canada: Outdoor Movies are an Integral Part of the Montreal World Film Festival

Outdoor Movies at the Montreal World Film Festival, Canada

The Montreal World Film Festival runs for 12 days each August and includes Cinema Under the Stars as an integral public component. For the duration of the festival, a stretch of downtown Ste-Catherine Street is closed to traffic, becoming a pedestrian promenade hosting free outdoor film screenings and cultural events alongside the main competitive programme.

The broader programme spans a World Competition, First Films World Competition, documentaries, regional sections for the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania, tributes, and a Canadian Student Film Festival -- all aimed at supporting cinema from every continent and fostering cultural exchange through film.
