The drive-in is fun, but every year Monroe County offers outdoor films that give you an excuse to get your friends together and catch a flick in the open, warm summer air. For free. Show up early to stake out prime real estate, and don't forget the snacks (or the bug spray). The outdoor movies are a great opportunity to enjoy a great film with friends, family, and neighbors, so don't miss it!
Every Thursday through August 13, Movies in the Bowl takes place at Highland Park Bowl on South Ave. The first outdoor film of the season was "1776," and it screened on Thursday, July 2. More movies to come each Thursday.
Over at Ontario Beach Park, Movies at the Beach kicks off its outdoor cinema series with "Jaws" on Tuesday, July 7. The movies continue on Tuesday nights through August 11. Films start when the sun goes down. For the full schedule, check monroecounty.gov, or call 753-PARK.
