Milwaukee, Wisconsin: Space Movie Captivates Kids on Inflatable Screen
They're two of Earth's ancient elements: air and water. Now they form the background for an entire "spring break" week of exhibits and demonstrations at Discovery World, 500 N. Harbor Drive.
First, grab a fistful of sky. A "mini-IMAX" inflatable dome will be set up in Discovery World's Pilot House to screen a film on our solar system.
Then sit in the cockpit of a World War II airplane or check out a jet engine from the Milwaukee Area Technical College's aviation school. Take a dream flight in a flight simulator.
After that, switch to water. Find out just what it takes to manage Discovery World's 180,000-gallon aquarium. Or watch the U.S. Coast Guard's Air & Water Rescue Team or the Milwaukee Fire Department's fireboat, Trident, in action from 10 a.m. to closing daily.
You can take a short tour of the harbor aboard the Voyageur for an extra charge of $9 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and younger.
