As the harvest moon dips behind the trees and daylight slips away, there is a moment of darkness settling over the crowd. But then: the screen lights up like a beacon in the darkness and illuminates the smiles that have jumped up on childrens' faces. The stars are still visible as cinematic music introduces that night's film, accompanied by the harmonies of breezes in the trees, late-night birdsong, and far-away cars speeding past. Here the movie joins the tapestry of a community park in twilight, it's colors and storyline intertwining with the fabric of the stars and trees and families below. A community gathers together to enjoy something special: outdoor movies in the park.
