McKinney, Texas: Fall Festival Includes An Outdoor Movie on an Inflatable Screen
by Nicholas Bazanov
McKinney Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces celebrates another Texas fall season with fun activities, music and food at the 10th Annual Family Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 25. The event lasts from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Wilson Creek Softball Complex. Activities this year include an outdoor movie on an inflatable screen, pony rides, carnival games, music and popular fair food staples.
McKinney outgrew our old Family Fall Festival, which was held annually for the past nine years, because of its popularity, said Center Supervisor of the McKinney Community Center Trish Yanes. This is a bigger and better event at a new location with more activities for McKinney families to enjoy.
While listening to music played by Beatles tribute band Ticket 2 Ride, attendees can dine on all the staples of a fair, like hot dogs, turkey legs, soft pretzels, funnel cakes, sausage on a stick and more.
Kids can take pony rides, experience different animals in the petting zoo and play carnival games. Pat Lobb Toyota of McKinney sponsors the inflatable outdoor movie screen showing of The Spiderwick Chronicles at 7 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for the movie.
In addition to activities for the youngest McKinney residents, the Family Fall Festival integrated attractions for older adolescents, like a mobile game theater, an outdoor Laser Tag station and a bungee bull. Admission for the whole family is $10. Visit www.mckinneytexas.org for more information.
