Locarno, Switzerland: Barco Outdoor Projectors at Locarno Film Festival

Barco was selected as exclusive projector supplier for the 61st Locarno Film Festival (August 6--16, 2008), with its DP-3000 handling the flagship open-air screenings at Piazza Grande. The Piazza Grande transforms each night into an open-air cinema with a 26-meter screen and capacity for 8,000 spectators -- one of the largest outdoor cinema venues in the world.

XDC chose the DP-3000 specifically for the brightness required in open-air conditions. Barco's DP-2000 projectors equipped the four indoor venues: Teatro Kursaal, Auditorium Fevi, La Sala, and Rialto. The festival draws around 190,000 visitors, 1,000 journalists, and 3,200 industry professionals each August.
