New Projector Line Appeals to Outdoor Movie Enthusiasts
WowWee — best known for its robotic toy line — announced the Cinemin suite of compact projectors aimed at backyard outdoor movie fans and small presentations. Powered by Texas Instruments DLP chips, the line was pitched broadly: “A café becomes a boardroom, a camping tent becomes a theater, and Grandma’s curtains become a life-size digital picture frame.” Prices ranged from $299 to $399.
Three models in the line:
- Cinemin Swivel ($299) — candy-bar-sized pico projector with a built-in battery for up to three hours of viewing. Expected June 2009.
- Cinemin Stick ($349) — pico projector with 4 GB internal memory and an expandable SD card slot.
- Cinemin Station ($399) — alarm-clock-sized projector with an iPod dock, designed for home use. Available by end of 2009.
