Istanbul, Turkey: Last Outdoor Movie Events of the Season

As summer wound down in Istanbul, the last chances to catch open-air cinema arrived. The Enka Summer Event at the Istinye Sadi Gulcelik Sports Complex ran through September 15, 2008 -- among the city's final outdoor screenings of the season. Open-air cinemas had been an essential pleasure of Istanbul summers for years: watching the sun go down, sipping a cold drink, and catching a new release or classic film on a giant screen.

The closing weekend screened You Don't Mess with the Zohan (Friday at 9:15 p.m.) followed by Pathology at midnight, then the Turkish film Kabadayi on Saturday evening. Films were shown in their original language with Turkish subtitles. Tickets were 10 YTL, available at the entrance or through Biletix.
