Gainesville, Georgia: Outdoor Movies in the Park in Gainesville, Georgia

Outdoor Movies in Gainesville, Georgia

Southern Outdoor Cinema brought a free outdoor movie night to Gainesville’s Laurel Park, screening Ice Age 2: The Meltdown on a giant inflatable screen at dusk. Pre-movie entertainment began at 6:30 p.m. with free arts and crafts from Abrakadoodle and a performance by NoJoe’s Clown Circus (free admission; NoJoe accepted donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital). The public was welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets; concessions were available.

“Nothing is more relaxing than spending a warm night with family, friends and neighbors,” said Paul Murray, Southern Outdoor Cinema owner and organiser of the “Movies in the Park” series throughout north Georgia. “Our free films and fun give everyone a chance to forget the stresses of daily life for a while and enjoy their family and community.”

The event was sponsored by Southern Outdoor Cinema, Hall County Parks and Leisure, Abrakadoodle, NoJoe’s Clown Circus, and Taylor Construction.
