Fayetteville, Arkansas: Outdoor Movie Part of Award-Winning Evening

The City of Fayetteville is proud to announce that the Parks and Recreation Department received four awards from the Arkansas Recreation and Parks Association at their annual conference in Fort Smith for three of its outstanding programs and one outstanding volunteer. Mayor Lioneld Jordan will present these awards at the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Meeting Monday, March 1, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. at the City Administration Building at 113 West Mountain in room 111.
The first annual Fall Soccer Kick-off Celebration won the Sports Management Program of the Year in Arkansas. The event was planned to provide an opportunity for participants and parents to meet their coaches, locate fields, and pick up uniforms prior to their first practice.В The event included soccer contests as well as the Passback Program to donate used soccer equipment to needy children around the world.В The evening culminated with the movie Kicking and Screaming on a giant inflatable movie screen. Accepting this award is Tiffany Gaulke, Recreation Program Manager for Soccer.
