Fairhaven's Outdoor Movies Begins this Week

Outdoor Movies in Fairhaven, WashingtonDrive-in movie theaters may be a thing of the past, but the Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema summer season on the Village Green offers a 30-foot movie screen on the wall of a brick building, soft grass for lawn seating and a roster of mostly family-friendly films, plus pre-show entertainment by local musicians. Showing Saturday, June 20, is "The Wedding Singer," with country singer and guitarist Laura Overstreet performing before the film. The movies begin around dusk. Arrive early; lawn chairs are allowed near the back of the green and on the brick pavement. Here's the schedule for the rest of the summer: June 27, 8:30 p.m., "Mama Mia." July 11, 8:30 p.m., "Kung Fu Panda." July 18, 8 p.m., "Iron Man." July 25, 8 p.m., "The Muppet Movie." Aug. 1, 8 p.m., "Young Frankenstein." Aug. 8, 7:30 p.m., "Twilight."
