Front Porch: Police Host Garage Sale
The Lynnwood Police Department's annual garage sale is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the old CompUSA building in Lynnwood Square at 19800 44th Ave. W., in Lynnwood. The sale benefits the Lynnwood Police Department's annual Shop With A Cop holiday program in December.
The program is an opportunity for law enforcement officers to foster positive relationships within their community.

Outdoor movie series begins: The city of Marysville's annual Popcorn in the Parks Outdoor Cinema Series kicks off Saturday with "The Goonies."
The movie starts at dusk, about 9 p.m., in Jennings Memorial Park, 6915 Armar Road.
People may bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. The Marysville Kiwanis Club plans to provide free popcorn for each showing.
Cinema equipment is provided by the Snohomish County- Camano Association of Realtors.

Discuss transit on Camano: A meeting of SOS (Save Our System), a group that supports the Island Transit Board decision to seek an increase in state sales and use tax, meets Sunday on Camano Island.
The meeting is planned for 2 p.m. at Camano Multi-Purpose Center, 141 NE Camano Drive.
The proposed increase will be on an Aug. 18 ballot.
