Since Delhi is parched of social engagements in June, there are possibly few better ways to beat the heat apart from chilling with a beer and a good movie. If you can do it in a nice cool lawn with smart, chic folks, even better. This Friday, Delhi's cine-fans should head to Shangri-La Hotel for the Studio Artois movie night. An initiative to give movie fans in India a luxurious cinematic experience, movie lovers in the capital can enjoy a star-lit screening on the green lawns of their restaurant Alfresco, Island Bar (pictured above) with a pint of Stella Artois, a beer brand.
The movie nights started earlier this month with a screening of Guy Ritchie's crime riot Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and this week they're gunning for Guy in his second crime caper Snatch.
We support film festivals around the world. The idea is to bring discerning movie lovers select titles at regular intervals, says Shimoni Shroff, Marketing Manager, Stella Artois.
The movie screening is free, the alcohol and food are also subsidised, costing Rs 1,000 for two people. However Studio Artois plans to change the venue for the screenings every month and that might also affect the price range. There is also a live band performance slated post-screening.
