CineBike in Mexico!
CineBike is our next generation of high performance, low cost human-powered cinema. We sent our first production unit down to Mexico with our operative James Lyons to put it to the test along with Claudia Covarrubias from Open Air Cinema Foundation Mexico. While we wait for James to get back to the states with his full report I wanted to share a few things that they have been up to. Check out this short clip shot by drone of James riding Cinebike off on a screening adventure:

James and Claudia held screening events nearly every night from Aug 18-22. They hit the streets, the towns, and the shores of Oaxaca.
On Aug 20 in collaboration with Hotel Suites Villasol, our team held a screening on the beach. Sure looks nice! I think next time I'll be the one volunteering to go to Mexico.
.
On Aug 21-22 the foundation held their second Community Theatre event. During the event participants learned about how to harness electricity from bicycle power and how it could be used to help everyone share their stories and short films through outdoor cinema.

It is noteworthy that Open Air Cinema FoundationВ addresses the growing technological gap by providingВ isolated and underrepresented communities the toolsВ and training necessary to share their stories through local film screenings and film festivals to regional outdoor events.
