Los Angeles is no stranger to benefit events, but this one arrived with a little extra star power and a notably generous spirit. Cher—Oscar, Emmy, and Grammy Award winner, and all-around force of nature—along with the Cher Charitable Foundation, hosted its inaugural West Coast benefit in the city, and Open Air Cinema was delighted to be part of the occasion.
Using the CB-16 Pro System, the event featured a screening of Love Sees No Color, a film starring songwriter, recording artist, and international peace activist Nassiri. The premiere was less about red carpets and more about shared purpose. “The premiere of Love Sees No Color was a joyous occasion to celebrate the mission of achieving world peace,” Cher said, noting that the film makes a compelling case for music as a powerful messenger of peace, love, and unity.
The scope of the project is quietly impressive. The music featured in the film was sung by thousands of children, in 15 languages, across 18 countries, and the footage was captured by 18 of the world’s most talented directors and producers. It is the sort of collaboration that sounds improbable until you remember that music has always had a way of crossing borders with ease.
Thanks to everyone at Open Air Cinema who helped make the event such a success. It was an evening that proved a large screen, the right story, and a shared belief can come together to create something genuinely meaningful.
