Burlingame, California: Enjoy a Free Movie Under the Stars in Burlingame, California

A free outdoor movie has been planned to screen on Broadway on Wednesday, Aug. 19. After the farmers' market, an inflatable movie screen will be set up, and the film, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, will play at sundown. The free community event is designed to bring people together and draw more attention to Broadway. We wanted to start something the community can come out to, said Peggy Dohrman (San Mateo Daily Journal), adding she loves outdoor movies.

It's a great way to watch movies. Movie-goers can expect to enjoy an old-fashioned popcorn machine, chocolate-covered strawberries, and cocktails. Broadway Grill, which is sponsoring the event, is planning takeout dinner for people to take to the movie under the stars.

Another option for movie patrons is Taste In at 1199 Broadway. The deli/cafГ© serves Mediterranean-inspired food, coffee and a selection of pastries. It is one of the newest additions to Broadway. The Burlingame Chamber of Commerce is very supportive of the outdoor cinema event, and if the public likes it and neighbors are not disturbed, another movie night could be planned.
