BRISBANE will play host to the most atmospheric makeshift movie theater around next month, when a unique smorgasbord of free cinematic delights are projected on to an inflatable screen in the City Botanic Gardens.
Under starry skies, lovers of great international film will flock to the garden's Soundshell Hill for a variety of outdoor movies not seen in the more conventional movie theatres.
Each evening from November 6 to 8, a European feature film will screen on the magnificent 16m x 8m Starlight Cinema inflatable movie screen.
This year, audiences will be entertained by three foreign outdoor movies from Italy, Germany and France. Kicking off the festival is Italian film Days and Clouds, which tells the story of a disintegrating marriage straining under the pressure of unemployment.
On November 7, German film The Edge of Heaven follows characters through Germany and Turkey and how they individually deal with the notion of life and death is on the bill.
Ending the outdoor movie festival on Saturday November 8, is French farce Welcome to the Sticks making light of French regional stereotypes.
So bring a blanket or hire a back rest for a continental evening of outdoor cinema.
Refreshments will be available.
