Last month, Blue Island residents, neighbors, and visitors had the opportunity to see a free outdoor movie screening of "Horton Hears a Who", courtesy of Shows by Rose. The event was part of the TGIF Picnic program, which holds weekly community events such as concerts, games, family activities, and, of course: outdoor films! Shows by Rose is a local Blue Island rental company that can put on outdoor cinema screenings and events for parties, family reunions, barbecues, etc. Owner and operator Rosemary Hanlon has lived in Blue Island her whole life and loves watching movies under the stars. With her help, you can watch your favorite movies -not just what's playing at the theater- in a theater-grade cinema in your own backyard!
