Baltimore, Maryland: Outdoor Movies and Films on the Pier at Fells Point

Baltimore, Maryland present outdoors movies at Fells PointFilms on the Pier, a free film series that turns Fells Point into a giant outdoor movie theater on Wednesday nights (with a finale set for Sept. 18), continues next week with Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, a 1963 thriller that suggests it may be a good idea to be a little kinder to our feathered friends. Showtime is 8:45 p.m. Wednesday at the end of the Broadway pier, where films are shown on a giant screen. Future offerings include The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (Aug. 20), plus three additional films yet to be chosen. Although several of the area's other free summer film series have reached the ends of their runs, there are still plenty of chances to watch films this week with the great outdoors as your backdrop. They include: Roberto Benigni's Life Is Beautiful, 9 tonight at High and Stiles streets in Little Italy; The Boys of Baraka, 8:30 tonight at the Clifton Park Bandshell on St. Lo Drive; Pixar's Oscar-winning Ratatouille, 8:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Patapsco Masonic Lodge, 2 Trading Place in Dundalk, behind the old Strand Theatre; The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Columbia Town Center Lakefront, off Little Patuxent Parkway; and the farcical Epic Movie, sunset Wednesday at Hopkins Plaza, Hopkins Place and Charles Street. Don't forget to drag a chair or blanket along with you.
