Alexandria, Virginia: Outdoor Movies Benefits Charity in Alexandria, Virginia
Over the weekend of July 29, Comcast and the City of Alexandria presented The Comcast Outdoor Film Festival at Ben Brenman Park, benefiting the Child and Family Network Centers (CFNC). The Outdoor Film Festival offered three nights of free outdoor movies, and an opportunity to highlight CFNC's work and raise funds for CFNC programs. Kids and adults alike had the opportunity to watch Shrek 2, Spiderman 2, and the Wizard of Oz, and support neighborhood services in their community. Proceeds from the food sales benefited CFNC.
Alexandria City Mayor William Bill Euille attended the Festival all three evenings. Hundreds of families from the Alexandria City area enjoyed the movies. Thanks to Comcast, the City of Alexandria, dedicated volunteers, and generous support from the movie-goers, CFNC raised almost $4,000 and shared information their organization.
