Brooklyn, New York: Outdoor Movies and Summer Entertainment in Brooklyn

The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy's Movies with a View series ran every Thursday from July through August 2008, screening films at Pier 1 under the Brooklyn Bridge, with Manhattan's skyline as the backdrop. The series attracted several thousand people each night; many arrived hours early to claim a spot on the grass. All screenings were free.

The 2008 schedule included Annie Hall, Ghostbusters, The Princess Bride, Do the Right Thing, Rear Window, Grease, Singin' in the Rain, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Moonstruck. DJs played before each film; food vendors lined the perimeter. The series had been running since 1999 and by 2008 was one of the most popular free summer events in New York City.
