Open Air Cinema at Fork Fest 2010

Yesterday Open Air Cinema sponsored the First Annual Fork Fest in American Fork, Utah! The Fork Fest is a Music and Arts festival, with a focus on music that is local to Utah. The festival featured sets from local (and in many cases national) favorites such as Joshua James, The Fictionist, Desert Noises, Sharkspeed, Imagine Dragons, Parlor Hawk, Devil Whale, Future of the Ghost, among many others!

Open Air Cinema donated two 20′ Outdoor Movie screens to the event. The giant screens were placed behind each of the two main stages, and displayed video content prepared especially for the event by artists working in conjunction with the bands. Thousands of Utah music fans showed up to see their favorite acts, and by anyone’s standards the event was a huge success.

Below is a video of the Devil Whale playing at the festival in front of one of the Open Air Cinema 20′ inflatable movie screens (It was in the middle of the day, so there wasn’t any video projected on the screens during the Devil Whale’s performance).

Open Air Cinema at Showdown 2010 Update

We recently posted about Open Air Cinema’s sponsorship of Showdown 2010, an MMA fight in Orem, Utah. Josh Burkman beat the undefeated Jordan Smith in the main fight of the evening. Open Air Cinema sponsored the event, and provided four 20′ Elite Outdoor Movie surfaces, and four Sanyo HD projectors. The setup allowed everyone in the stadium to get a great view of the action.

We just received some additional images from the event, and wanted to post them on the blog so the Open Air Community could get another glimpse at what we’ve been up to lately. Notice the MMA fighters right on top of the OAC logo!

Open Air Cinema at Showdown Fights 2010!

Last night, Open Air Cinema sponsored the 2010 Showdown Fights: Respect MMA fighting event at the UCCA Center in Orem Utah! Open Air Cinema provided four 20′ Elite surfaces and projectors, and suspended them from the ceiling as jumbo-tron screens during the fights. The Open Air logo was displayed prominently inside the octagon, and on the projected surfaces throughout the stadium.

The fight between Josh Burkman and Jordan Smith was the headline event, and thousands of MMA fans came out to see this historic fight. After 3 bloody rounds and a judges’ decision, Burkman was declared victor, as he beat his undefeated opponent. Burkman is the proud owner of an Open Air Cinema 16′ Home System, and through a sponsorship wears the OAC logo on his fighting shorts.

An Open Air Cinema system makes a great entertainment system for watching your favorite MMA fights at home! It’s a perfect setup to enjoy the fight right in your own backyard in the company of your friends. Your backyard theater system can also be used for gaming, other sports broadcasts, and of course, outdoor movies!
