Alliance for Culture and Commerce has organized free outdoor movie nights on four Saturday evenings throughout the summer, beginning at dusk at the Oxbow Park.

The outdoor movies are rated G and PG and are family-friendly. They run from July 19 to Aug. 9. The Judy Garland classic “The Wizard of Oz” will open the series on July 19, followed by the baseball favorite “Field of Dreams” on July 26. The popular comedy “The Princess Bride” will play on Aug. 2, followed by John Travolta’s “Grease,” on Aug. 9.

Open air seating will be open at 7 PM, and moviegoers are encouraged to show up early and enjoy a picnic dinner while the sun sets.

The outdoor movies will be shown on a state-of-the-art 8′ x 10′ open air movie screen. Viewing areas on the Oxbow green will be organized for those bringing blankets, low chairs, and high chairs to the Oxbow. The venue will be handicapped accessible, and two rest rooms will be available, including one handicapped unit. Popcorn, candy, and drinks will also be available for purchase by donation. Leashed and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

The outdoor event will be moved indoors to River Arts if rain or high wind occurs. Open air movie participants will be asked to call a movieline on the day of the event, as it will contain the most up-to-date information on weather scheduling.
