Independence Day Celebration Highlights San Jose Giants Homestand Preview: July 4th - 9th
The San Jose Giants have a full schedule of promotions and events planned for the upcoming six-game homestand that begins on Saturday, July 4th at 6:30 PM. The Giants will kick things off with a bang as they have partnered with the Comcast to host the official San Jose Fireworks Show following the game against Modesto on Saturday night. San Jose boasts a second Fireworks Extravaganza, a Giants Homecoming and many other exciting promotions for the upcoming homestand.
Promotions and Special Events:
Fireworks Extravaganza: The San Jose Giants have teamed up with Comcast, United Sites Services, San Jose State University, The City of San Jose, Happy Hollow, History San Jose and Kelley Park for the new July 4th Fireworks celebration Saturday at Municipal Stadium and San Jose State University. The Giants game is sold out on Saturday, July 4th, but the community is invited to watch the fireworks absolutely free on the San Jose State University Soccer Fields and East Field next to Spartan Stadium or at Kelley Park. Parking for the Giants game will be available for $8 per car in the Municipal Stadium Parking Lot as well as Bud Winter Field. Parking for the Fireworks viewing will be available for $8 per car at the San Jose State 7th Street Parking Lot, as well as Kelley Park and History San Jose. There will be concessions open to the public, including Turkey Mike's Express, which will be located in the Municipal Stadium parking lot.

Fireworks Extravaganza: The Independence Day festivities continue Sunday, July 5th with a second Fireworks Extravaganza. Immediately following the Sunday night game against the Modesto Nuts, fans are encouraged to stick around for an encore performance of fireworks at Municipal Stadium.
Alliance Credit Union Kids Eat Free: Every Sunday home game is Alliance Credit Union Kids Eat Free Sunday. Fans can cut out the Kids Eat Free coupon from the Mercury News and redeem it at the San Jose Giants Box Office. For every youth ticket purchased fans will receive a free hot dog and soda. Fans must present the coupon at the time of purchase. The offer allows for only one ticket per coupon.
Merchant Night: Monday, July 6th will be another Merchant Night at 7:00 PM. Be on the lookout at local businesses and stores for complimentary tickets to Monday's game against Modesto.
OSH Merchant Night: The Merchant Night festivities continue Tuesday, July 7th with Orchard Supply Hardware Merchant Night. Fans can pick up free admission tickets at participating OSH stores one week prior to selected dates. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis, while quantities last. Homecoming Night: The Giants are pleased to announce the Inaugural Homecoming Night on Wednesday, July 8th.The evening will be a celebration of former San Jose Giants that have gone onto the Major Leagues as San Francisco Giants. Festivities will include a meet and greet with fans, homecoming parade around the warning track, participation in between-inning promotional activities and a first pitch ceremony. Bring your San Francisco Giants ticket stub from the July 6th-8th games against Florida and receive two tickets for the price of one.

Community Events:
Comcast Movie Night: The San Jose Giants and Comcast present another Comcast Movie Night on Saturday, July 11th. Bring the whole family to the fun-filled San Jose Giant's Movie Nights presented by Comcast. Watch the Movie of the Month, Kung Fu Panda, on the Big Screen. Admission and parking are free. Bring a blanket and watch the movie from the outfield. Concessions will be open during the movie. Arrive early to check out the Family Fun Zone including: inflatable activities such as the speed pitch, bounce house and t-ball. Gates open at 6:00 PM and the movie begins at 7:00 PM. No chairs will be allowed on the field.
Inaugural San Jose Giants Community Fund Golf Tournament: Join your favorite Giants in raising money for the San Jose Giants Community Fund at Villages Golf and Country Club on Tuesday, July 14th. Many current and former players are scheduled to attend with registration starting at 10:30 AM. Following the tournament, there will be a silent auction and dinner and guests will be able to watch the MLB All-Star Game on the big screen. General Admission tickets are NOT assigned seating. They are on a first come first serve basis in the stadium grandstand and bleachers.
Throughout the season, single game tickets will be available at the Box Office and over the phone at (408) 297-1435 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Tickets are also available online at www.sjgiants.com.
Individual tickets for the San Jose Giants Fireworks Extravaganza Saturday, July 4th are now SOLD OUT. There are still good seats available for the Sunday, July 5th Fireworks Extravaganza available at the Municipal Stadium Box Office, over the phone at (408) 297-1435 or online at www.sjgiants.com.
The San Jose Giants have two levels of individual tickets left for the Independence Day Celebration on Sunday, July 5th. Special Bowl Reserved seats are $12, while Outfield General Admission bleachers are $11. Seniors (65 and Older) and children ages 5-12 are $7 for an Outfield Bleacher Seat, while kids 4 and under are free.
On the Airwaves:
Comcast Coverage: The San Jose Giants and Comcast have joined forces to bring fans 14 LIVE television broadcasts during the 2009 season. The games can be viewed live on Comcast Hometown Network Digital Channel 104 throughout most Northern California regions. The television schedule continues Saturday night as the San Jose Giants host the Modesto Nuts from Municipal Stadium. Coverage begins at 6:30 PM with play-by-play from "The Voice of the Giants," Joe Ritzo with color commentary by KNBR's Dan Dibley.
The LIVE games will be replayed several times on Comcast Hometown Network (Channel 104), and will also be available any time of the day or night via Comcast's popular ON DEMAND platform, which is free to Comcast digital customers. To view California League baseball games ON DEMAND, Comcast Digital Cable customers can tune to Channel 1 on their Digital Cable lineup or press the ON DEMAND button on their remote control, then click on the "Get Local" section, then click on "Local Sports."
Streaming Live: Every Giants game can be heard live on the San Jose Giants official website at www.sjgiants.com. Joe Ritzo will be behind the microphone for his seventh season as the voice of the Giants and fans can also find team information such as updated rosters, statistics, game notes, and news by visiting the website.
